People Security - Who is responsible?

We live in really a strange country. Every one is responsible for every thing except our government which is responsible for nothing! If prices increase and people can not afford to survive, our rulers tell us that it is due to high-rate economical development of country. This further puzzles the common person but how can he understand complexity of economics? When a common person visits market and finds things expensive and our rulers say that lentil is Rs.15 per kg (it was Rs.80 per kg at time when asked) one really thinks in which world they live? It is easy to know where they live- they live in a careless horizon where 150 million people are working for them and their children.

Coming back to safety issue, in history it was governments or Police’s job to protect people but later it was privatised and now every one had to hire a guard for him. Then came the era where ministers were no more responsible for their departments. If there were train accidents or electricity failures and accidents, our concerned minister was not responsible. Now finally we live in a time where our government as a whole is also not responsible for anything. Supreme Court of Pakistan banned kiting but Government relaxed this ban (in civilised countries it could have not been possible and if it was done then the relaxing authority was to be considered responsible for each and everything) and as a result we had more than a dozen deaths, again who is responsible, no one!

We always look for examples from west but even in our East we have many such examples where ministers or even prime ministers resigned over such accidents. I don’t want to give any example from India, China, or Japan but this time it is from a Muslim Country-Turkey.

A small girl fell in to an open manhole in Istanbul and died. The incharge of water department was sacked. He can be considered equivalent to our minister’s level. Whole story is at:
